About Me

I grew up in Austin (an original Austinite!) and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling and Development from Lamar University.

For the past twenty years, I’ve worked in education…first as a Spanish teacher and most recently as a school counselor. I worked exclusively in secondary schools because I love teenagers! As both a middle and high school counselor, I understand the unique stressors and needs of Generation Z. Additionally, I worked closely with parents and colleagues, which influenced my desire to provide therapy to adults in private practice.

Friends and family members would describe me as kind, funny, and loyal. My former students and colleagues would characterize me as hardworking, direct, and compassionate. As your therapist, I will provide a comfortable, non-judgemental space for you. The relationship we form is essential for the therapeutic process, and I promise to be a genuine cheerleader in your corner.

In my personal time, I love to travel and learn about new cultures. I’m a foodie and love to cook as well. I am constantly reading, researching, and learning. I have a dog named Bosley that I adore, and obviously…I love birds.

What can I expect in our sessions?

As your therapist, I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental, and empathetic approach that creates a safe and supportive space for exploration. With a deep commitment to your healing and growth, I will actively listen, seeking to understand your unique experiences and challenges. Drawing upon my expertise and knowledge, I will tailor therapeutic techniques to meet your specific needs and goals, empowering you to navigate life's obstacles and uncover your inner strengths. Together, we will collaboratively work towards fostering self-awareness, developing effective coping strategies, and cultivating positive change in your life. Your well-being and progress are my utmost priority, and I am dedicated to providing a therapeutic experience that promotes healing, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.
