About Me

I grew up in Austin (an original Austinite!) and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas. I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling and Development from Lamar University. I spent 20 years in education before moving into private practice in July 2023.

Friends and family members would describe me as kind, funny, and loyal. My colleagues would characterize me as hardworking, direct, and compassionate. I will bring all of these qualities and more into our sessions to ensure you feel comfortable to share your vulnerabilities and life concerns.

In my spare time, I love to travel and explore new cultures. I also love to cook and consider myself a foodie. I am an avid reader, and I am constantly researching and learning. I also have a sweet doggie named Bosley, and we walk every day together.

And finally, I love birds, which is why I named my practice Birdjoy Therapy. I believe birds symbolize hope, freedom, and new beginnings. Ultimately, I hope all of my clients a life filled will joy. I look forward to starting your new beginning together.

With a deep commitment to your healing and growth, I will actively listen, seeking to understand your unique experiences and challenges. Drawing upon my expertise and knowledge, I will tailor therapeutic techniques to meet your specific needs and goals, empowering you to navigate life's obstacles and uncover your inner strengths.

Together we will work collaboratively to foster self-awareness, develop effective coping strategies, and cultivate positive change in your life.
